Mission Statement

Our dedicated team of professionals are ready to give the highest quality of customer service and to provide a major support for the Academic and Operational systems of Flint Community Schools. We hire and retain the most qualified personnel available, while pursuing diversity and career development. We are the primary resource for the resolution of work-related issues and strive to create an employee relations environment of mutual respect and creative problem-solving while maintaining the State and Federal guidelines.

We do all of this with the interest of the learner/student in the forefront.

Vision Statement

It is the vision of Flint Community Schools' Human Resources/Legal Affairs Department to be professional, courteous, and informative to all who enter our office and to strive to give superior service at all times to ensure the most qualified employees for our district.

 


Social Security Number Confidentiality

Pursuant to both state and federal law, it is the policy of this School District to protect the confidentiality of Social Security Numbers. No person shall knowingly disclose, transfer, or unlawfully use the Social Security Number of any employee, student, or other individual.

 


Board Policy 5050 Sexual Harassment and Intimidation

It is the policy of Flint Community Schools to maintain a working environment that is free from sexual harassment.  No staff member of this District shall be subjected to any form of sexual harassment or intimidation.All school districts are required under Michigan law to adopt and implement a written sexual harassment policy that prohibits, at a minimum, sexual harassment by school district employees, board members, and pupils directed toward other employees or pupils.  MCL 380.1300a

 


Michigan Senate Bill No. 327

Michigan Senate Bill No. 327 discusses teachers who have not yet received their professional teaching certificate, and changes effective July 1, 2007.
