Bridges to the Future (BTF) is a youth development program that is implemented through before and after school activities. BTF is a county-wide partnership between United Way of Genesee County , the Flint Community Schools , the Genesee Intermediate School District and the County's additional 20 school districts. BTF before and after school programs reinforce fundamentals learned during the school day and provide fun and creative learning experiences to K-9 th graders after school.

Bridges to the Future

  In Flint , Bridges to the Future is managed by Bonita Bingham, Project Director, under the direction of Dr. Gail Ganakas, Chief of Community Education and Relations. Flint Community Schools embodies approximately one-third of the total number of BTF sites. Each BTF site in Flint is managed by a Youth Development Specialist (YDS) that coordinates and implements programs, build relationships with the community, and connect students and their families with community services.
