Flint Community Schools Snow Day Update

January 27, 2021

Dear Families –

Growing up as a student at Flint Community Schools, I remember the excitement I would carry every time a large snow fall was predicted. I would barely sleep a wink, waiting to find out whether school might be canceled. When it was, I would play outside in the snow, building snowmen and carving snow angels in the yard.

Although we are learning remotely for now, in the event of a significant snow fall and when the road conditions call for it, I am writing to inform you Flint Community Schools plans to honor the tradition of snow days this year.

To that end, below are a few ways to find out if the Flint Community Schools district is having a snow day. Remember: snow days are often called in the morning, after local experts provide an update on the condition of the roads.

  • Monitor Flint TV stations and their websites for snow day and inclement weather notifications
  • Check the Flint Community Schools Facebook page: Facebook.com/FlintCommunitySchools
  • Make sure your phone number is on record with your child’s school (you will receive a robocall)

Stay warm and take care.

Mrs. Anita J. Steward

Superintendent
