Dear Families –
At Flint Community Schools, we are committed to helping your child succeed. When the going gets tough, Flintstones get going. To that end, the Flint Community Schools team has placed 7,139 wellness calls, 18,243 parent support calls, conducted 845 Home Visits and distributed 481,487 meals this school year alone.
We are Flint focused, and we will do whatever it takes to support our families—and your child’s success depends on their attendance. As such, I am writing to remind you that the next Count Day is this Wednesday, February 10, and if your child is not online for school, they can’t be counted. To make Count Day more exciting, Flint Community Schools will be giving away prizes online during classes all throughout the day—but your child must be in class to have the chance to win. Your child could win a new pair of RIG gaming headphones, courtesy of Nacon Gaming on Wednesday, February 10. Just ensure your child is online in their scheduled classes on Wednesday for a chance to win.
We need all students to show up on Wednesday, February 10 and every day to be connected and engaged. If you have any questions about logging in, please contact your child’s school.
Additionally, we recently announced that Flint Community Schools will offer families the option to return to in-person learning through a hybrid model, beginning Monday, February 22, 2021. Meanwhile, those of you who have elected to continue with remote learning will have the option to continue with remote learning. The decision to offer hybrid learning was made after the recommendation of Governor Whitmer that all K-12 schools offer some in-person learning by March 1, 2021. We welcome your continued feedback as this process moves forward.
Your partner in education,
Mrs. Anita J. Steward
