Flint Community Schools Families–
At Flint Community Schools, we are committed to providing your child the support they need to succeed. For many families, we know that includes an in-person learning option.
As such, I am writing to inform you that the district is revisiting discussions with the Board of Education this week surrounding potential plans for an in-person learning option. We will provide an update on the outcome of this discussion on Thursday, March 11.
We are grateful for your patience and understanding. The safety and well-being of our staff, scholars and community comes first and we are uncompromising in having the necessary safety measures in place.
As a reminder, the district’s Safe Return and Recovery Plan can be found on the district’s website (www.FlintSchools.org). It is a part of the rotating banners on the home page. We will also develop frequently asked questions about the return to in-person learning and share that once it is live on our website. If you have not already, please tune into last month’s Flint Focused livestream series on Facebook, available here and on our Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/FlintCommunitySchools), where we featured Freeman Elementary School and shared some of the safety guidelines in place for the return to school.
We too are eager for our scholars to return to in-person learning. In the meantime, we encourage scholars to continue with distance learning every day. Thank you for remaining Flint Focused.
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Anita J. Steward
