August 23, 2021
Dear Families:
At Flint Community Schools, the safety and well-being of our scholars and staff is always a primary concern. As we look at this week’s weather forecast, we have made the decision to cancel school districtwide from Tuesday, August 24 through Thursday, August 26. Per our 2021-22 school calendar, which can be accessed at FlintSchools.org, there is also no instruction on Friday, August 27. The administration building will remain open, and principals are to report to their buildings on Tuesday, August 24. School will resume in-person Monday, August 30, and we look forward to seeing your child.
The district continues to work to obtain air in all our classrooms. In the meantime, the district will continue to monitor the temperature outside to make informed decisions for the well-being of our school community.
The district is closely monitoring if and how our recent cancelations affect our school calendar, and we will provide an update to the community as soon as possible. No matter what, our teachers and staff will ensure that our scholars’ academic journeys stay on track.
We encourage any parent or guardian with questions or concerns to contact the district directly. We will continue to put our community first.
Your partner in education,
Mrs. Anita J. Steward Superintendent |
