Inspiring. Dedicated. Resilient: Congratulations to the Class of 2022

Flint Community Schools is proud to recognize and celebrate the Class of 2022, who walked across the stage and accepted their diplomas on Tuesday, June 7 at Flint Southwestern Classical Academy.

Scholars from Accelerated Learning Academy and Southwestern Classical Academy received their diplomas from their principals – Principal Ochodnicky and Principal Fields – alongside friends, families, teachers and staff, who cheered the scholars on from the overflowing bleachers. Over 80 scholars were honored during the commencement ceremony.

The commencement ceremony was filled with speeches by Flint Community School Board President Joyce Ellis-McNeal, Superintendent Kevelin Jones, Valedictorian Asz Ferrington, Salutatorian TK Thomas and special guest speaker and 2008 valedictorian Brielle Bryson.

The message was clear to the graduates: be proud of who you are and where you come from, and never stop the pursuit of your dreams.

Congratulations to the class of 2022! We can’t wait to see what you will accomplish in the next stage of your journey.
