Dear Flint Families,

Each and every day, Flint Community Schools’ dedicated team of educators goes above and beyond to support the academic, social and emotional needs of scholars and families. October is National Principals Month, and as the month comes to a close, we want to recognize our incredible team of building leaders who are focused on scholars’ education and lifelong success each and every day.

National Principals Month is an opportunity to celebrate and honor principals for their leadership and commitment to their school community. As you know, our principals play an essential role in the success of our schools and serve as a key support system for our scholars, families, teachers and staff.

FCS principals are focused on nearly every aspect of their school community. Whether they are taking time to meet with scholars one-on-one, working with teachers to ensure they have the proper materials to succeed in the classroom or building relationships with parents and the school community, principals wear many hats year-round. All of these special moments culminate in positive outcomes throughout our district.

Although we have faced some unexpected challenges and hurdles together, our principals have remained Flint-Focused and dedicated to not only the success of our scholars, but also to the overall success of the Flint community. The role of a principal is not an easy task, and I am grateful for our team’s leadership and willingness to go above and beyond. Flint Community Schools will continue to remain focused when faced with challenges, while staying committed to those we are privileged to serve.

Please feel encouraged to reach out to your scholar’s principal to share your family’s appreciation. Whether you would like to write a thoughtful note or share a post on social media, a symbol of your appreciation would mean the world to them. We will continue to celebrate principals year-round, and we hope that you can join us in honoring our incredible leaders.

Thank you, principals!

Educationally Yours,

Kevelin Jones

Superintendent
