Dear Flint Community Schools Families,

From our Flint Community Schools family to yours, we want to wish you a safe and happy holiday break. We hope that your holidays are filled with joy and cheer while surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Each year brings a unique set of challenges and celebrations, and 2022 was no different. Through it all, we have maintained focus on our shared goal of providing scholars with the academic and wrap-around support that they need to live healthy and enriching lives. Our scholars have worked so hard this year, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their efforts and commitment to education.

As we head into the holiday break, we want to encourage our scholars to continue learning while at home. Whether they read their favorite book or take a few moments to get a head start on future projects, we encourage families to keep scholars busy and learning as we enter 2023. As a reminder, Flint Community Schools is closed for holiday break from Monday, December 19 to Monday, January 2, with classes resuming on Tuesday, January 3.

Looking beyond the new year, we are excited for all that’s to come in 2023. Again, thank you for your commitment to your scholars’ education and the support of our teachers and staff. We look forward to continuing our mission to provide our scholars and their families with the resources needed to thrive in 2023 and beyond. My goal is our success, and we will remain Flint-focused for those we serve.

Have a safe and happy holiday break!

Kevelin Jones, Superintendent
