Great Start Readiness Program logoFlint Community Schools invites you and your child to become a part of our Great Start Readiness (GSRP) Pre-K program.  The program offers a full day (Monday-Thursday) to students who are 4 years of age by September 1st . Items needed for enrollment are:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Record
  • Proof of Income
  • Proof of Residency
  • Driver’s License/ID


Our GSRP (Pre-K) classrooms are conveniently located inside the following buildings:

  • Brownell S.T.E.M. AcademyMulticolor abacus
  • Doyle Ryder Elementary
  • Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary- Montessori
  • Eisenhower Elementary
  • Freeman Elementary
  • Holmes S.T.E.M. Academy
  • Pierce Elementary
  • Potter Elementary


Program offerings:

  • Full day program that meets 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday)
  • Dedicated to providing services for students four years of age
  • Provides a healthy and stimulating learning environment
  • Provides a seamless linkage between Pre-K and Kindergarten
  • Free dental and vision screenings
  • Exciting field trips
  • Nutrition program:  daily breakfast, lunch and snack
  • Volunteer opportunities for parents and guardians
  • Parent conferences
  • Kindergarten transition activities and resources

Early Childhood Wrap-Around Services

The mission of Flint Community Schools Early Childhood program is to address the whole child and family. One way to accomplish this is to provide families with extended early childhood services provided by community partners of the city of Flint. Community partners strive to provide Flint Community School parents access to programs which service students birth through 3 years of age.
