Full House at the Genesee Chapter Meeting! It was an exciting and informative meeting of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, with Superintendent Kevelin Jones as the guest speaker. Superintendent Jones shared valuable updates on the District’s academic initiatives, highlighted the $150 million in investments focused on student success and building improvements, and discussed the exciting plans for the Central-Whittier Campus redevelopment. On Friday, April 11, 2025, Southwestern Classical Academy scholars received an incredible gift that will have a lasting impact on their academic journeys — 80 refurbished laptops were donated to support their computer science studies. This generous contribution was made possible through Sewa Detroit, a chapter of Sewa International, in partnership with ENDO Pharmaceuticals. The donation is part of Sewa USA’s broader commitment to uplifting underserved communities, as outlined in their Social Impact Reports, which highlight the organization’s dedication to driving positive change across educational, health, and community development sectors. The laptops were presented during a special event at Southwestern Classical Academy, with district leaders, educators, and students in attendance to celebrate this meaningful investment in student success. The devices will be used by SWCA’s computer science scholars to enhance digital literacy, complete assignments, explore coding, and engage in project-based learning. Flint Community Schools remains dedicated to building strong community relationships and creating opportunities that enrich the lives of our scholars. Flint River Green workday and rehearsal at Southwestern classical Academy Wonderful job Ms. Stewart-Roberts, her team, and her science scholars at Southwestern Classical Academy today as they participate in an exciting Flint River Green workday and rehearsal. This event is part of the school’s ongoing commitment to environmental education and stewardship.
