Today GST Michigan Works! hosted the MiCareerQuest East 2024 at the Dort Financial Center. Our Students visited four career quadrants for hands-on experience in Health Sciences, Construction Trades, Advanced Manufacturing and In-Demand careers such as Energy, Agriculture, Public Service & More. #Southwestern #JagNation

Sometimes health conditions can come apparently out of no where. Sometimes people know about an underlying heart condition that could make them more susceptible to having a cardiac event. Other times those underlying conditions can lay silent until an event occurs. This is one reason why it is extremely important to have a primary doctor that follows your care year after year. Supt. Jones, "Honoring a DTM Scholar": When scholars take the time to give speeches at a young age and memorize words that inspire and motivate, it should always be commended. We present to you, the future, Mr. Clifford Scruggs from DTM. He gave an awesome speech on Diversity over the past weekend at the 32nd National Multicultural and Diversity Celebration. Clifford, we celebrate you!!

We strive to keep all of our students as healthy and safe as possible. One of the best ways one can do this is being fully immunized. The state requires students enrolled in school to be up to date on their childhood immunizations. Please see attached flyer for our upcoming immunization clinic.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and Indigenous Peoples’ Day Today students from Southwestern High School attended a special field trip to Mott Community College in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The 32nd annual Peace & Dignity Sacred Ceremony provided a valuable opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the rich cultural traditions, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Indigenous communities.
