Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program

The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program has been implemented district-wide and in schools across the state and nation.

Schools have created a foundation of support to prevent problem behavior and promote achievement for all scholars.

We celebrate scholar success in multiple ways and the rewards vary at each individual school. Those who consistently display Respect, Integrity, Safety and Empathy can expect to participate in the following incentives:

Mindfulness Rewards for the PBIS store.

  • Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Ticket Drawings and/or Celebrations

  • Semester Celebrations

  • End of the Year Celebration

What can you do to help your child stay on the path to positive behavior?

Review the Behavior Expectations with your child.

  • Ask your child about his/her day at school every day.

  • Make sure your child is prepared each day.

  • Ensure a good night's sleep.

  • Provide a quiet time and space for your child to do homework nightly.

  • Keep in touch with your child's teacher.

  • Encourage your child to use appropriate language and tone.

  • Practice positive phrases with your child, such as "Thank You," "Excuse Me," "Please," and "I'm sorry."

  • Be a visible part of your child's school day.

  • Attend school activities as your schedule allows.

We look forward to working in partnership with parents as we embrace PBIS. If you have any questions, please contact the school. A PBIS team member will be happy to discuss the program in more depth with you.
