Our talented scholars from Flint Southwestern Academy had an amazing time broadcasting our basketball games! From calling the action to sharing their energy and enthusiasm, they did a fantastic job bringing the excitement of Jaguars Basketball to our school community.
Experiences like these give our scholars the opportunity to build confidence, develop real-world skills, and be part of something special. We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and school spirit!
Great job, Jaguars!

In October 2024, our scholars and staff at Southwestern Classical Academy were honored to welcome Reverend Jackson. His message to our senior class was clear and powerful: our voices matter, and voting is one of the most important ways we shape our future.
Superintendent Kevelin Jones shared:
“Rev. Jesse Jackson’s visit to Flint Community Schools was a historic and inspiring moment for our scholars. He reminded us that civic engagement is not just a right, but a responsibility. His lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and empowering young people will continue to inspire generations of Flint scholars to lead, serve, and make their voices heard.”
We are forever grateful for his impact on our school community and the example he set for our scholars. His legacy lives on in every student who understands their power to create change.
