Flint Community Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us last night for our Special Education Parent Listening Session.
Your time, honesty, and engagement help us better understand how we can continue strengthening supports and services for our scholars receiving special education services. The conversations shared were meaningful, thoughtful, and centered on what matters most — student success.
We truly value your voice and partnership as we work together to improve programming, expand opportunities, and ensure every scholar has what they need to thrive.
We appreciate you being part of this important work and look forward to continuing the conversation.

The Flint Southwestern Lady Jaguars relay teams and 100m/200m runners proudly represented on Tuesday at the Badar Track Classic with strong performances and great energy on the track!
A special shoutout to freshman Mariam Bilal, who continues to impress—placing in the 100 meters and proudly showing off the shirt she earned for her accomplishment.
What a fantastic showing and an exciting season for our Lady Jaguars!
This session is an opportunity for parents and guardians of students receiving special education services to share feedback, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations about strengthening supports for our scholars.

As they prepare for summer break and increased independence, the interactive driving simulator gave them a powerful, real-world look at the dangers of impaired driving. The experience demonstrated how quickly judgment, reaction time, and decision-making can be impacted by distracted, drugged, or drunk driving — and reinforced the importance of making safe choices every time they get behind the wheel or ride with others.
While the end of the school year is often full of excitement and celebration, this event served as a serious and timely reminder that those moments of fun should always be matched with responsible decisions that keep students and the community safe.

The Administration Building will also be closed. Classes and normal district operations will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, May 26.
