Our outstanding Art teacher at Southwestern Classical Academy has received a $100 award from the Flint Classroom Support Fund to purchase essential art supplies for her classroom. Her creativity, passion, and commitment make a lasting impact on our scholars every day.
In partnership with the Bishop Trust, the Flint Classroom Support Fund is also recognizing student artists at Southwestern. From February through May, one student artist each month will receive a $25 Michael’s gift card and have their artwork showcased, highlighting the incredible creativity within our Flint community.

This state grant funded program provides for nurses in every school building and clinical therapists at DTM, Freeman, Holmes, and Southwestern! I am looking for parents and community members that may be interested in sitting on this program's Community Advisory Committee. This committee meets at least twice a year to discuss the program and look at ways to improve its services, to best provide for our scholars. Eisenhower officially exited state support, according to the 2024–25 Michigan School Index released by the Michigan Department of Education—an achievement reached by only 68 schools statewide.
This milestone reflects three years of hard work and collaboration among Principal Thomas, his staff, Eisenhower scholars, and supportive families. Through strong schoolwide systems, intentional instruction, and a commitment to every child’s success, Eisenhower made meaningful academic gains and reduced chronic absenteeism.
