Today, we pause to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001 ā€” a day that forever changed our nation. As we mark this solemn anniversary, we stand in solidarity with the families who lost loved ones in the tragic attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and aboard Flight 93 in Pennsylvania. We also pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and countless others who risked and gave their lives in the service of others. Though we are many miles from the sites of the tragedy, we in Flint Community Schools hold close the values of unity, compassion, and resilience. On this day, let us take a moment to reflect not only on the lives lost, but on the strength we find in community and the importance of standing together in the face of adversity. I ask each of you scholars, staff, families, and community members to join me in a moment of silence and remembrance.
