This bonus comes at a historic moment for the district, following the Flint Board of Education’s approval of additional teacher salary support after a landmark restoration agreement between Flint Community Schools and the United Teachers of Flint on April 3, 2024. On April 28, 2025, as part of a newly approved Letter of Agreement between the Flint Board of Education and the United Teachers of Flint, the district will offer a commitment bonus of up to $12,000 to new certified teachers and ancillary staff. This move reaffirms the district’s commitment to investing in educators and paving the way for educational excellence.
