October 1, 2024 Celebrating Leadership: Honoring Our Flint Community Schools Principals During National Principal Month Dear Flint Community Schools Families, Staff, and Partners, As we recognize National Principal Month this October, I am honored to express my deep appreciation for the incredible work of our school principals. These individuals embody the spirit of leadership and dedication, driving the success of our scholars and the strength of our school community. Principals are the backbone of our schools. They work tirelessly to create safe, welcoming, and academically rich environments for our scholars. Their role is one of immense responsibility and impact—supporting teachers, engaging families, building relationships with community partners, and ensuring every scholar is equipped for success. Their passion and commitment to their schools each day is truly remarkable. Our principals go beyond managing school operations; they lead with heart, vision, and a steadfast belief in the potential of every child. They embrace the unique challenges of education in Flint, working with determination to inspire academic achievement, social growth, and emotional well-being among our scholars. This month, I encourage everyone to take a moment to thank and celebrate the exceptional principals leading our schools. Their work may often go unseen, but its positive effects are felt throughout our district and community. Whether it’s a kind note, a word of encouragement, or simply acknowledging their impact, let’s show our appreciation for their unwavering commitment to Flint Community Schools. On behalf of the district, thank you to all of our principals for the vital work you do. You are instrumental in shaping the future of Flint, one scholar at a time. Yours Educationally, Kevelin Jones, Superintendent Flint Community Schools RE-ENERGIZING THE PRIDE, RENOVATING THE PLANS, REBUILDING THE POSSIBILITIES, and REPURPOSING FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE!
