Holmes STEM Middle School Academy proudly celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated Library and Media Center on Tuesday, November 18thāan exciting milestone in the Brownell-Holmes STEM Campus renovation project. The event welcomed district leaders, community partners, and special guests to explore the innovative, student-centered space designed to enhance learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Throughout the celebration, scholars stood ready at every station to showcase the Media Centerās many features. Guests engaged with students as they demonstrated everything from digital research tools and collaborative work areas to hands-on STEM stations and multimedia technology. This included the latest popular books for all ages, 3D printers, drones, camera equipment, stationary exercise equipment, a Sensory Center, a Quiet Corner, and so much more. The interactive setup allowed visitors to experience firsthand how the center will support 21st-century learning at Holmes.

A highlight of the celebration was the special dedication of the new Video Broadcasting Center. In a heartfelt moment, the space was officially named in honor of Superintendent Kevelin Jones II, recognizing his steadfast leadership, vision, and commitment to expanding opportunities for Flint Community Schools scholars. A plaque proudly hanging at the entrance of the room features Superintendentās name, marking the space as a lasting tribute to his impact. Following the dedication, Superintendent Jones participated in the first podcast interview recorded in the new broadcasting centerāan inspiring start to the spaceās future use.

The new Media Center stands as a shining example of the investment made in the Brownell-Holmes STEM Campusāan investment in innovation, excellence, and the future of Flintās youth. As the doors open to this state-of-the-art space, Holmes scholars are ready to explore, create, and lead.
